How the hell did I get so lucky to meet these two wonderful women?! When I got together with Kaitlyn and Lauren at Delanie’s Coffee in Southside back in October of 2018 to book their video package, we instantly hit it off!!! Not only were they planning a wedding at Riverfront Weddings, where I’ll also be getting married this Summer, but we had so much more in common! We quickly realized that our next meeting would have to be over dinner and drinks because we sat for way too long in that coffee shop getting to know each other!
By the end of our first meeting, I had gained two new friends! Little did I know, I had only seen a glimpse of their kind hearts that day. As their date neared closer, we grabbed tacos, beers and margaritas at Las Velas in Market Square to finalize our plans. I realized by then that they’d formed friendships with most of their vendors and I suddenly didn’t feel quite as special. lol Katie and Lauren have an extraordinary way of connecting with people and building relationships like that.
On their wedding day, Katie and Lauren were surrounded by a huge bridal party made up of dozens of their closest supporters. Unfortunately, their sweet pup Dusty wasn’t able to make it, but he was there in spirit! I’m still looking forward to a date with the whole family at Gristhouse or another dog friendly Pittsburgh brewery.
Anywhoo…. Lauren waited for Katie to arrive as she looked out over the Allegheny River from one of their most treasured spots on Washington’s Landing. Finally, Katie approached from behind and as they united on the day they’d be married, they both broke down in laughter and tears. Their love is so real and radiates so fiercely that it shook me to my core. That was just the start of this incredibly romantic celebration!
The brides shared their own personal vows during their ceremony and had everyone in tears including me. The rest of the evening was filled with confetti guns, hilarious stories and heartfelt toasts from their friends and family and of course lots of drinking and dancing. DJ Underdog kept the party bumping from start to finish and BTW… I’m totally stealing all of their ideas for my own wedding!!
Hand in hand, Katie and Lauren have conquered so many obstacles to be together. They bring out the best in each other and their strength and positivity are to be admired. I am so blessed to know these girls and can’t wait to see what the future holds for the two of them. I know it will be nothing short of amazing!!!
Cheers to the Heddermans!
