You know that saying… “When you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life?” I’d say it pretty much sums up how I felt about traveling to Baltimore, MD to film Chris and Taylor’s wedding day.
It was my birthday weekend, so Alex tagged along and we booked a nice hotel with extra points we had from our cancelled honeymoon flights to Italy. We got in a day early and grabbed dinner at a cute little outdoor spot with music and pretty string lights after checking into the room.
The next morning, we strolled the Inner Harbor and stopped for a fancy lunch with a view of the sun shining down on the water. I couldn’t have imagined a more enjoyable way to begin a “work” day.
Taylor and Chris had only booked me for a few hours of their wedding day. Due to Covid, they’d postponed their big reception, but decided to move forward with an intimate ceremony with close friends and family.
None of the Baltimore wedding videographers who Taylor had inquired with wanted to take on a shorter wedding day (like why the heck not?!) so thank goodness her amazing photographer, Brooke Mattingly stepped in and recommended me from Pittsburgh!
Brooke and I worked together once before at a West Virginia wedding and I absolutely loved her, so of course, I’d jump at any opportunity to work with her again! But the minute I spoke with Taylor over the phone, I knew I had to make the drive to Maryland to meet her! Even if it wasn’t for her wedding. lol
I loved talking with Taylor so much that I’m pretty sure we squeezed in a couple of extra phone calls just to chat about little details that we probably could have handled through email. She made me laugh and I couldn’t wait to meet her!
The day went way too quick and of course, the bride and groom had things to do and places to be, so we’re already planning a reunion trip, but in the short amount of time I got to spend with Chris and Taylor, I fell head over heals.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Kalwa and thank you so much for inviting me to be apart of your celebration and for the sweet gift you sent me after the wedding day! I’m so SO happy for you both and can’t wait to host you in Pittsburgh someday soon!!!!
